Free day!

Hey guys!  Long time, eh?

I've been super busy working on Emma's Dilemma, which is the sequel to Emma's Choice.  It's coming along SO well and I'm crazy excited for everyone to read it!

I told my...followers?...fans?...that's weird to say....I told my fellow book lovers that as soon as my FB page got to 50 likes, I would do another free day for one (or both!) of my books.  Well, people sure either love me or love FREE (we'll pretend it's the former), because my "likes" skyrocketed to 73 in just a couple of days!!

Today has been the free day for Just My Luck and it, once again, has been doing so much better than I thought it would.

New cover

Ahh!!  I'm so excited!  

We're heading out to shoot the book cover for Emma's Choice tomorrow at the butt crack of dawn!

We're headed to a bird refuge sort of near my house, but I've never been there because birds have a tendency to attack me.  It started at a young age at the zoo and, ever since, I've been sure that all birds are the devil's spawn and out to get me.

Anyway, we're going to get eaten alive by birds mosquitoes, but it's going to be so worth it if when the picture in my head makes it to the photographer's camera.  :)  YAY!

Hey readers!

(I know you're out there because Blogger tells me so!)

I haven't posted in a while because I've been keeping myself busy getting my next book ready to publish.  I don't have a release date set in stone quite yet, but it will for sure be sometime this month.  We'll have to see how long editing ends up taking.  :)

In the meantime, here's a quote that inspired me greatly while writing:

New cover!

I wasn't entirely happy with the first cover of my book.  Big sister to the rescue!  Suzanna and I collaborated and came up with a great cover that I'm entirely pleased with.  I feel bad for her, since all I did was give the orders and she did all the work, although growing up with me, she's used to it.  ;)

So now, the big reveal!

The picture is one my husband and I took while we were visiting the Bahamas six years ago.  It still needed a bit of "help" to be cover ready, so Suzanna stepped in and perfected it.

Better?

Confession

My eBook did great during the three day free promotion.  In fact, it did better than I ever thought it would.  I actually went into the three days thinking it would be miraculous if I got 300 downloads, which would be 100 a day for those of you math challenged ones out there.  ;)

But, honestly, I didn't see how it was going to happen.

The main marketing tool I had was my friends and family on Facebook, so I figured I would get about 150 downloads (even though I was still secretly wishing for 300).

At the end of the first day, I was right around 125 downloads, which was amazing.

At the end of the second day, however, I was only around 215 downloads and knew things were winding down, despite my best efforts with what I had as far as marketing.

Halfway through the third day, there were around 275 downloads and I was just wishing to hit that 300 mark.  I had to go to work last night, but I checked the download count when I got home.

My grand total of free books downloaded was (*drum roll, please*)...378!!!!

I'm not sure what happened the last half of the third day, but somehow word got out or something and the downloads shot up!!  YAY!!!  I really can't believe it.  I've gotten so much positive feedback, it astounds me. I was also on the Amazon Top 100 Bestseller list for contemporary fiction for most of the three days (#74 out of about 1,400 free books).

So, if you were one of those 378, THANK YOU for your support!!

I'm currently having someone work on tweaking the cover a bit for me. I wasn't completely happy with the last one, so it's getting a makeover today (and yesterday).  When I upload the new cover, I'll also upload a new file of the book that has some editing changes that some very helpful (not being sarcastic) readers alerted me to.

I also need to do an author's bio page, which I have no idea what to say on that, but at least I found a decent picture of myself for it (one where I'm not surrounded by crying/screaming kids and not wearing a shirt stained by little fingers!).
